The auto calibration of this thing is excellent. It leveled the bed and did a 15 minute initial calibration out of the box and I never had any failed print. I think it adds 3 minutes to each for a short setup but it's great. It even has a rubber toothbrush type thing it uses for cleaning the head automatically when potential issues are detected
Also I think Prusa said they wanted to develop firmware technology to somehow detect and prevent firearms to be prevented so frick them and their slicer
Bambu hosts a pre sliced Hoffman sl-15 on their own maker site so you can print one from your phone lol
Looks really solid. I heard people get a lot of mileage printing parts out of PLA+/pro. Someone told me that PLA+ parts are expected to fail after "dozens" of mags but carbon fiber nylon could last for years. Seems like that would be really dependent on the part/gun and how fast you're shooting imo.
God honestly I don't even know. This Bambu a1 was like $400 and right now I can't honestly think of any downsides of it for my purposes that would benefit from something more expensive bar cosmetic design/enclosure but I don't really print in different materials atm but I do want to try pet/cf lowers. Tho tbh with the cost of pla pro being cheap and this thing printing a sanding-free no messy support lower in 11 hours its almost more worth it just to print a bunch and rebuild if they break

I got a prusa I3 when they were first released to the market but calibrating before every new design it is great PITA and unstable for larger designs.
