Tractor Supply told me that all of the chicks were hens , but I think I ended up with two roosters . One, named Rory, looks like a rooster and acts like one too. He'll call out alerts when I enter the run and comes up to see who I am. No crowing yet, but they are only 17 weeks. The other, named Wilma, had a slightly bigger comb and waddle than the other hens, but smaller than Rory's and had a pretty little crest feather . Xhe acted like a rooster and challenged me too when I entered the run so I just assumed that I had a butch hen. Last week Wilma had a mystery wound under xher wing so I treated it and put xher in an isolation brooder until xhe was ready to come out. Today I got back from visiting my folks to find that Wilma had a bigger wound on the other side and feathers all over the ground in the run. I tried to treat it, but xhe died . I just ordered a camera so I can spy on my chickens to make sure they are getting along. RIP Wilma

Instead of crying you should be looking up recipes for that Rory fellow

If he injures any of the other chickens he is going in the pot for sure . I should have cooked Wilma, but I feel like xhe got an unfair shake. I never saw xher pick at or challenge Rory so I buried xher. I don't know for sure if xhe was a rooster or not but its the most likely explanation for their behavior. They have plenty of food, water, space, dust baths, and a safe coop. The frustrating part is that I don't know for sure what happened both times. Looking forward to having spycams up.

Ive heard roosters can be pieces of shit, might as well cook them to get something worthwhile out of them.
