Like the title says. My friends all got ebikes but I just cant afford the few hundred dollars on a whim. I didn't want to be left out of our group rides so I rattlecanned an old trek black and taped some plastic to the frame that kind of looks like a battery pack.
I've been hitting the spin bike a lot more and making humming sounds when we go ride but I'm not sure how long I can keep this up. I almost got dropped last week after they unrestricted the speed controller, and they're planning a really hilly brevette for this weekend. I'm not sure what to do

the other day i was on the local bike trail and it has like a 45 degree hill because the people who made it spend zero time thinking what it'd be like to bike on it. so i'm cruising up this hill without standing up off the seat and there's a kid at the top looking at me all :o and when i got to the top he said HOW THE FRICK DID YOU DO THAT so obviously i said
powerful legs. 
with a straight face and blew his mind. i shouldn't have followed that up with 
nah it's an ebike 
and just left him forever thinking i was the coolest strongest most buff dude who ever lived.

if they went out of business it's news to me. i got a new battery from them early in the summer.
