Many wonder about the size of the space I've set aside for the kittens and Sheila as they get through to about 8 weeks old/ everyone is in better health in general. So here are the current photos of how they're set up in the master bathroom. It's got an empty-ish bedroom that we keep closed attached, so the two cats we had before these new kids are well separated.
They're loving the expanded bed. My boyfriend kindly bought a larger structured one than their starter one yesterday while I was working.
I hope you all take care and have lovely days!

Yeah cats always want some cover above them. I'm not sure if that evolved from getting swooped on by eagles or just jumped on by other cats, but it's one of those irrational things that my boy and girl always were obsessed with. Except for some reason on really hot summer days they didn't care and Black Cat would just sleep with his peepee out exposed to the whole world.

Sheila immediately panics if they are fully covered and will dig them out of their burrows forcibly.

you are not supposed to cover them, but offer a cave for her to hide the babies in if she wants to. dont force her, offer an option! honestly a rough roof over the commode to the wall should be enough

When I'm hanging out in their room with them while they're settling in, I very frequently set them carefully under the blankets when possible. Its just an issue of if Sheila is doing her own thing or not. She gets uneasy right away when she catches me doing that.
