I don't know if it's because they're genuinely unhinged or because the place is full of bots, or both, but it seems like most of the people on /r/politics genuinely believe that if Trump gets elected, there is a high chance that US democracy will end.
I'm not saying there's no chance that Trump ends democracy, but in my opinion the chance is so small that /r/politics' constant hysteric screaming about it is ridiculous.
I'm not sure how many of them really believe it deep down though because if they really did believe it, a large number of them would be doing something other than screaming on Reddit, like at least maybe making a serious effort to get citizenship in another country. Same goes for rightoids who claim that the election was stolen.
Most people don't know the basics of how American government works in the first place, so who knows what their definition of "democracy ending" even is.
You don't get it. The world didn't end during the first term even though they insisted it would because he had to try to get reelected. Once he doesn't have to worry about reelection, he can slaughter all LGBT, issue an executive order to become dictator for life, and declare nuclear war on the ocean.
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.
Why do people keep saying this? Wall money, border crossings down 2000%, 3 supreme court justices, rvw revoked, political zeitgeist completely changed, no new wars, great economy. Literally the most influential and entertaining president in 50 years.
The trade deal that he changed between canada mexico and ourself gives us 100bil over 20 years in benefits. In a round about way yes Mexico paid for the wall.
If shitlibs believe Trump ends democracy, that means they believe the Dems should believe that and act accordingly. Biden's presence as the 2024 candidate betrays this, I would pick someone waaaaay better in order to save democracy

I guess I don't understand how this could be. Biden had more people vote for him than any president ever. How is it that after a fairly successful four years and the opponent being a convicted male feminist and felon...?
