My Redactorfesto, my political opinions that you've all been waiting for

(This started as a reply to something but I watched about 6 episodes of the Twilight Zone and it rambled so blame Rod Serling and Richard Matheson. Also I want to write this so I can use parts of it later.)

This is the most important election, democracy is at stake, but being rude to gay guys with no sense of humor (I don't know if these even exist) is still more important. Like not passing over a colored woman (why not?) who is the vice president. I heard some sack of shit today say that she gets to run because she was his running mate, so get this, that means we voted for her.

Think about that for a second: When you grudgingly voted for Biden because he was the least bad, you actually were voting for Kamala Harris in 2024.

I've been fricked in the butt by these people for 20 years, who cared a lot about intraparty factional bullshit but not winning. I kept voting for them and they always say "frick you, we picked some East Coast machine politician, and you have to vote for us or them." It reminds me of the t-slur blackmail, "I'll kill myself unless I get what I want."

Well I'm calling their bluff. You can't threaten to lose the race when you're already losing.

This is why my parents stopped voting Dem. They had an Obama bumper sticker and voted straight Dem for 2 decades. Both basically refuse to ever vote Dem at the federal and local level until they clean up their act.

Identity politics have infected the Democratic Party to such a degree that they chose Kamala, one of the least liked politicians in the country, as Biden running mate, just because she checked the right diversity boxes. Now that shit has hit the fan and the party needs to identify and rally around a candidate quickly there's silence because the obvious answer, the Vice President, wasn't selected because she's charismatic or a good public speaker etc, but because she's black(?) and a woman, and actually might have even less of a chance of beating Trump than the corpse of Joe Biden.

Oh and if they do try and get someone else you can be guaranteed the optics of skipping over the first black or female VP, especially if that candidate is white (most of the other names being floated are) will have consequences.

They were pushing a poll just yesterday that said the only replacement candidate who was likely to win the election was Michelle Obama. We sure seem to love our political dynasties here for whatever reason. At least they don't have to worry about the racial issue you mentioned if they do that, though.
