I think Kelly is more valuable to the dems on the Senate though.

Arizona is a swing state and he's a popular moderate, him becoming VP (a powerless office besides untying senate races) means the GOP could take that seat in the next election.

Good point. But I think he's so clean that it's the best pick. Chuds! might disagree with him on policy, but there's probably nothing negative about him personally. Astro neighbors are hardcore. They go through so many tests and training that a r*pemaxx 30 years ago or some cringe comment would have been revealed.
