Unless you live in the forest, live off the land and produce your own goods. It is your problem. You live in a society.

Now you might be able to insulate yourself from some of it, but the problem isn't going away, and the cost to you to ignore it will only grow.

/u/babyjaceismycopilot you can actually just go to a state that doesn't put up with all of this. There are a number of cities in the world that don't allow the homeless to do whatever they want.

Homelessness could literally be solved overnight by cutting all homeless funding to zero and opening a work camp in the desert that the homeless will be deported to for vagrancy and disgusting living conditions

I see this as a two part problem.

The first part is there are only limited funds and services to go around, allocating those that can make the most impact (or shut up the loudest complainers) will get prioritized.

The next part, when you do use resources in 1 area, it is used to treat the symptoms and not the underlying problem, so the problem just moves somewhere else.

I don't know what the solution is, but I know the local government can't do it by itself. I think the government can provide support, but without community involvement, nothing will change

Just spend more money on the homeless mkay. It'll totally fix it this time.
