Frick current year psych.
Taking classes in this may have been a mistake, I had thought science and study of the mind would be illuminating and interesting, and it is, yet this is a both a logical science and a belief system wearing one hat and it’s getting clearer every day. I cannot handle my professor for abnormal psychology especially, he is absolutely cucked.
Arrogant as frick, interrupts students constantly when they are making presentations just so he can act like “the expert” and cast doubt on someone. From the way he talks I knew from day one for certain that he was a heavy consumer of Reddit.

He played videos of Republican politicians getting roasted in interviews about transgender legislation, then used that to make points about how ignorance causes harm and “listen to the experts.” Absolutely a “just trust the science, chud 
” type of person on any issue from reassignment surgery to Adderal for kids. We aren’t even in America wtf.
The most ironic thing I witness in this classroom is his sky-high confidence in psychiatry and the psychological establishment, taking the utmost pride in treating depression and saving the lives of the suicidal (he has very openly bragged about doing this, many cases where he tells the story of a patient who comes to see him and everything gets better after lol). Yet he himself is not a true picture of healthy functioning! He is seeing another therapist himself to address his own psych issues. On his Twitter he writes how he’s barely holding it together and uses his own sessions to cope. Apparently he’s very upset deep down about not being accepted for any PhD programs.
Here I was, assuming that to be treating the minds of the unwell you yourself must be psychologically healthy. Things are starting to make more sense now. From all the fricked up things hes seen in his line of work (which I don’t doubt) I think he has shrivelled his soul while outwardly he appears normal.
This class is heck and is the blaring alarm that I do not wish to be in a “mental health field.” I am now convinced these fricks create psychological issues in people in the course of attempting to treat them (see: medication dependence, learned helplessness, trains). This class is 3 hours long on an evening I made a mistake in committing myself to this.
At least discussion from my classmates can be spicy, there’s a far left lib in there who tried to make a genuine case for the “trans-abled” who wish to have their legs surgically removed, saying they need to be accepted too. 
Also the pink haired chick who kept making faces during the sexuality disorder segment, then went on a long rant while red in the face. He had to console her afterwards lmao.

I was lured in by false promises okay. They do a fantastic job at making it sound so real and cutting edge, the altruist in me thought I could really do good to others in this way. Now I only see social “scientists” jerking themselves off for personal gain and renown :(

Most of the people with actual competence moved into neurology and neuroscience in general. Mainly because it isn't a sham and has respected standards (somewhat lol).
