Vinyl sounds better than CD

No discussion about this topic would be complete without acknowledging that a person's subjective perception is their reality.

Almost on par with the "It came to me in a dream" citation from the technological society :marseyunabomber:

This sounds like a massive cope. Vinyl is the literal impression of the original sound wave onto physical form. Digital can never be as good because it is just an interpretation.

That said the difference is so miniscule that anyone seriously debating the difference is an irredeemable r-slur.

Since the mid-1970s, vinyl mastering houses began using digital delay lines instead of analog delays on the signal going to the lathe that cuts the spiral groove. So even in the increasingly unlikely event that 100% of the recording, mixing and mastering was done entirely using analog gear and media, the end of the vinyl mastering process may well have involved a conversion to digital and back.

there's less of a dynamic range just because each soundwave can only be so large. physical mediums are a b-word

Yeah but wouldn't that also apply to your ears since it is also a physicsl medium? Seems like you're limited either way

no because you're trying to reproduce sound within the range of human hearing, vinyl is within the range of human hearing. If you're trying to play sound outside the range of human hearing you're r-slurred. Vinyl can't reproduce the bass or trebel of digital files because the wave form on your vinyl would move your needle too much and take up too much space on a limited platter.
