we had honors classes you could take if you were smart and they were harder. i don't think we had anything after undergrad but before masters that was honors adjacent

I was in honors classes back in high school. I once had to take one of the subjects in a regular class because (i forget the reason, I think it was too packed) and the regular class was actually harder, because we had to do more both in and out of class. Looking back, I question it sometimes.
