Yeah, the state doesn't like it when people take matters into their own hands.

“Your actions have raised serious concerns as they post a threat to public safety and the integrity of our city's infrastructure,” the letter dated March 14 read, according to ABC 7. “It is imperative that all maintenance and repair work on public roadways be conducted in accordance with established regulations and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents and visitors.”

It's always some bullshit "safety" nonsense they cite to shut down this type of action.

They don't give a frick that the potholes are endangering public safety. But someone acting on it? Yeah, that's a direct threat to their existence and bottom line.

Sometimes the rules make sense, like the dude who built a staircase in a public park. It was a nice looking staircase but built by some random guy.

If a Midwestern bridal party leaned against the handrail for a photo, it was going to break and the city blamed, because most people would assume the city built it.

But an improperly repaired pothole in a 25mph residential zone isn't a danger to anyone.. And even if it was, it only affects Californians and illegals, neither of which matter.
