Home Depot Catches Employee Of The Year Sleeping On The Job

Next time you're shopping at the Home Depot in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, if you're lucky, you might end up finding something other than the usual light bulbs and drills. If you walk down aisle 45, right under the air purifiers, you'll see a bed that's home to the store's resident cat, Leo.

The Mount Laurel Home Depot adopted Leo back in 2022 from a local shelter. They were dealing with a rodent issue and thought Leo would be just the guy for the job.

Leo takes his job very seriously. You can see in the video below that even when customers try to distract him by petting him, he stays diligent and on task.

In recognition of his hard work, Leo was recently named Employee of the Year. When some of Leo's fans saw a TikTok about his new title, they wanted to make sure he was getting adequate compensation and recognition.

"When will he be promoted to manager?" one commenter asked.

"What kind of perks does he get with employee of the year? Does he get a parking space with his name on it or extra vacation days?" another asked.

But these commenters can rest assured that Leo has been getting plenty of rest and relaxation ever since he was named Employee of the Year. He likes to spend most of his day sleeping in his special bed or wandering around the store, finding boxes to nap on.

The Home Depot's human workers have gone above and beyond to make sure that Leo is always safe. When it gets hot in the store, they point a fan at his bed. At night, he's kept in the garden center, a smaller area of the store. He's also microchipped and has an AirTag on his collar so the staff can always keep track of him.
