Your biggest RATIONAL fear?

Hey all, I'm taking a short break from effort posting today, since I reached my goal

:#taythumbsup:

Back to a few blog posts.

So here's my totally rational fear:

Walking around work without realizing my zipper is down.

I've seen it happen to someone else and no one had told him, until me... So he'd presumably walked around like that for at least a few hours.

Another one is that it was all a dream and I'll notice one night because a lamp in the corner looks a little off.

Me too. I know people who did everything right - married, have lots of siblings/brothers, made multiple children, and still spent the last years of their life alone and forgotten.

And they were from generations where kids were expected to take care of their aging parents and divorce was almost unheard of. Nowadays the chances of rotting alone in some appartment is much higher :marseydoomer:

So not to long ago there were some really really bad storms in my town and the sirens went off in the middle of the night three different times

:marseywtf:

I woke up those mornings to like 18 texts from friends and family plus missed calls because the sirens all sounded in my area.

... I slept through them on the above ground floor right next to a window

Broadtip arrows, pulled one out of a wood stump too hard after stupidly firing it from a crossbow (I was high and forgot to use the target tip ones) and slashed my wrist "down the road". Got super lucky that i didn't knick an artery, pressure on the wound got it closed by the time the ambulance got there (15 mins) and I didn't need to go into the hospital but a quarter inch deeper and I wouldn't be posting on this gay cat site. Now it's hard to look at bows or arrows without my arm hurting, still have the scars.

It was actually kinda cool in one way, my gf at the time (now wife) didn't panic and did everything right in an emergency, I realized I could actually trust her with serious shit.

Best part. My sister in law still has left grandpa. From his father side. Both of her parents have to care for their parents in their retirement.

I got two that I consider equally bad. The first is anything scratchy like, like a fork scratching on toast and similar noises because I think of nails doing that and being torn off. I've thought of that and hated those sounds since I was a young child.

The second is being stabbed, especially if my guts leak / hang, thinking or hearing of anything like that can give me cold sweats. I saw the one movie 1917 where it's World War One and I had idk cold sweats and couldn't focus much after seeing the German get stabbed. It wasn't graphic but just the implication of stabbing made me spooked.

And I watched reservoir dogs and in the intro where the guy was shot in the stomach I kept thinking of that and had to leave since I was feeling sick.

Funny story about 1917

That was the first movie my husband and I saw before we started officially dating.

I wanted to take him to the movies to celebrate the start of the school year and I saw the 1917 poster. I just thought it was yet another historical drama and bought the tickets without reading the synopsis.....

just the sad kind :marseycry:

There's a more drama-ish world war one musical movie I know of called oh what a lovely war

this song is from there, but I don't wanna link the scene since it's related to the ending. Very sad though

Explain the dream one?

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

It was a post that originally circled on Reddit years ago, about how a guy lived a great life. He married, had three kids and watched them all grow up.

One night in his twilight years, him and his wife are sitting in the living room and he looks at the lamp.

The lamp is oddly placed, the way it looks against the corner doesn't make sense.

Then he wakes up and realizes the life he lived was all a dream
