Yes. My mom absolutely hated it, along with most of the other shows on Cartoon Network. The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy was her least favorite, although I always hated that one as well (but my sister liked it).

Courage the Cowardly Dog was revived for a CG animated short film in 2014 titled The Fog of Courage. There was a lot of speculation that it would lead to a reboot of the show, but it never did.

Here's one of Courage creator John R. Dilworth's pre-Courage short films, The Dirdy Birdy (1994), which was featured on an episode of MTV's animation anthology show Cartoon Sushi:

!comicshitters there should be a !cartoonshitters ping group, a ping group, dedicated for the discussion of Western animated slop of all kinds, from 2D, to CGI, to stop-motion, to experimental, and most importantly, the absolute insanity, drama, lolcows, and political sperging of the Western cartoon fandom, that rivals the weebshitters in their levels of extreme autism and degeneracy.

The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy was her least favorite, although I always hated that one as well (but my sister liked it).

The Brazilian Portuguese dub of Billy and Mandy was fricking hysterical, a thousand times better than the original one and I am not even exaggerating, they even outright used swear words like "butt" (bunda) in a fricking cartoon network show for kids :marseyxd: :marseymacacosalute:

The Brazilian voice of Grim sounds more like what you would expect a voice actor doing the Grim Reaper to sound like. In the original English version, they used a dude with a thick Jamaican accent, which was a very odd choice:

:#marseymacacosalute: BWC's Brazilian voice acting Mini-Effortpost Part 2:

Yeah, this is why I believe that in certain (but not all) cases, the Brazilian dubs are better than the original English ones, there are certain tropes in American voice acting that not only make little sense in a Brazilian context, but sometimes, they are just outright bad, like how pretty much all young child and female characters always have that same insufferable high-pitch Tara Strong-esque voice, just compare Dexter's Lab and Fairly Odd Parents in Portuguese and English, that obnoxious foid voice is no more!, I have no idea how Amerimutt children were able to spend years of their childhoods growing up with these fricking intolerable foid voices! :marseywholesome:

Another Fun fact: The Brazilian voice actor of Grim, Orlando Drummond, was not just a regular voice actor, but he in fact holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-active actor in human history, he started his acting career in 1942, and his career was only stopped by his death at the age of 101 three years ago!, the guy literally was Grim in real-life too! :chadbrasileiro: :marseymacacosalute:

Drummond also voiced Popeye, Scooby Doo, Alf, C-3PO, Papa Smurf, Gargamel, Gandalf in Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings, and countless other roles given his 80-year long acting career, however, he ultimately became more popularly known for portraying a stereotypically flamboyant gay guy character in a popular early 1990s sketch comedy show, that would abso-fricking-lutely not be tolerated in current year society :marseydarkxd:

And like how I previously mentioned the family and generational groups involved in Brazilian voice acting in my previous spergpost, almost all of Drummond's grandsons are also prominent actors and/or voice actors:

He has a grandson who voices Timmy Turner in Fairly Odd Parents, Jim and Tim in Kim Possible, Barry Allen in the Arrowverse, and Jun in Kakegurui.

Another grandson who voices Gumball, Shazam, Hitohito in Komi Can't Communicate, Teemo in League of Legends, David in Cyberpunk Edgerunners, and Damian Wayne in the Batman animated universe.

And yet another grandson who voices Ratchet in Ratchet and Clank, Jonny in Ed Edd n Eddy, and Rod Flanders in the Simpsons.

The high-pitched, grating vocals that you're talking about are definitely present in many Brazilian cartoons. Here's just one good example (this show, I don't think, ever aired outside of Brazil):

This is "adult animation" (:marseypickle:) MTVslop that had no prominent voice actor involved in it, and you are right, it was never shown outside of Brazil, so this is not really a good example, it is like using 2007 Flash animations as an example of the average American voice acting, I cannot recall any (unintentionally) annoying character voice in mainstream children's cartoons and films in Brazil at any point that I can remember. !macacos

Dude, it is massive, I am pulling this out of my butt, but the Brazilian voice acting scene is probably the biggest one in the world, in the terms of the total number of media being dubbed, its history that goes back to even earlier than English dubs, the number of voice actors, and the number of total audiences that consume the dubbed media (80% of Brazilians watch dubbed media IIRC), our dubbing scene is arguably even bigger than the one from the US and Japan.

Some random fun facts: Wendell Bezerra, who voices Goku, Spongebob, and Pain in Naruto, has a sister, Úrsula Bezerra, who voices Naruto himself, young Goku in DBGT, and Gerald in Hey! Arnold, it is quite common to see siblings and parent-child groups who are voice actors in here, sperging out in a microphone is a generational tradition! :marseyflagbrazil:

Also, Caio César, the voice actor of Sokka in Avatar The Last Airbender, Daniel Radcliffe in Harry Potter, Boots in Dora the Explorer, Jimmy in Ed Edd n Eddy, Otto Rocket in Rocket Power, a young Sonic the Hedgehog, and young Boba Fett in Star Wars Episode II: The Attack of the Clones, died in 2015 at age 27 in the most Brazilian way imaginable - he was a police officer who was shot and killed by armed gangs in a Rio de Janeiro Favela gunfight :bruh: @TheOverSeether @MoonMetropolis

For cartoons and anime, maybe, but for live-action actors..... no, not really, the original burger actors are still much more popular than their voice actors, despite our country having an extremely rich voice acting and radio narration culture as old as cinema and radio itself, a culture surrounding Brazilian voice actors is still a very new, post-2010s social media thing, and the majority of voice actors tend to keep a low profile, we hopefully do not have a Japan Seiyuu-esque idol culture.

I think that it is because we Brazilians are not as pretty like how the Japs are?, like for example, it is very common for me to see a :marseybooba: anime waifu, but then I look up her voice actress thinking that she looks like an :marseycatgirl: :marseycatgirl4: :marseycatgirl4: :anime :asiangirl:, but then you look the voice actors up and they look like...... MEU DEUS, DIOS MIO :goblina: :marseymuttbrasil: :brazilmutt: :chudbrasileiro:, I mean, this is what the Brazilian voice of Naruto looks like, Volcel if you wouldn't: https://i.rdrama.net/images/17222202617178056.webp :#soyruto:

For example, Everybody Hates Chris has now been recognized as an UNESCO treasure of Brazilian culture, so much such that til this day !macacos harass Tyler James Williams on all of his social media, to the extent that he eventually had to quit the internet :marseydarkxd:, but the population does not shows the same level of fanaticism and admiration towards the voice actors, not even close.

Also mentioning for convenience, in the show, Chris had two different voice actors, and both of them do not seem to be prominent, one of which is also another police officer in Rio de Janeiro!, however, Greg was voiced by Erick Bougleux who also voiced Aang in Avatar the Last Airbender, Denji in Chainsaw Mawn, Kazuma in Konosuba, Milhouse in the Simpsons, Chester in Fairly Odd Parents, Ren in Kengan Ashura, Chifuyu in Tokyo Revengers, Omi in Xiaolin Xowdown! :autism:

Outside of a few exceptions, most are not well known (in the spanish audience at least). You have to keep in mind 1. outside of neurodivergent fandoms like anime people pretty much don't know anything about how the media they consume is made 2. voices are harder to remember than faces 3. most of the media around media features hollywood actors, not VAs.

Even the arguably most famous spanish VA, Humberto Velez, got unceremoniously fired from the Simpsons when the cast got into a labor dispute.
