A woman from Texas, USA, has been verified to have the world's widest tongue (female).
Brittany Lacayo's tongue measures 7.90 cm (3.11 in) at its widest point – that's wider than a hockey puck and almost as wide as a credit card.
Her tongue is 2.5 cm (1 in) wider than it is long, when measuring length from the tip to the middle of the closed top lip.
In fact, 7.90 cm is the exact same size as the average length of a woman's entire tongue when measured from the epiglottis (a flap of cartilage behind the tongue).
This record hadn't been broken for 10 years until now – the previous holder was Emily Schlenker (USA), who took the title as a teenager with a tongue 7.33 cm (2.89 in) wide.
Brittany, who works as an attorney, has always known that she possesses an exceptionally large licker – she said her family would often joke about it when she was a young child.
However, she never considered the possibility that hers could be the widest in the entire world.
That changed when her best friend sent her a video of Emily Schlenker, which inspired Brittany to measure her own tongue.
"Shock" and "curiosity" are the main reactions Brittany receives when people see her tongue for the first time.
She hasn't ever shown it to her colleagues, nor has she told them about her record, but she'll no longer be able to bite her tongue now that we've announced it. "It is neat and kind of funny," she admitted.
Brittany isn't the only American attorney to break a record in recent weeks – Alexander Capogna performed the most chest-to-ground push ups in one hour with an astonishing total of 1,246.
The male widest tongue record is 8.88 cm (3.49 in), belonging to Brian Thompson (USA). The former record holder was Byron Schlenker, Emily's father.

If it's flush with her tongue then I don't see the problem

what's the width of a circle you mongoloid
The tongue is a three dimensional object that's larger in the middle and bending a ruler around the circumference of the top of a tongue is going to give you an inherently larger value than the width, ESPECIALLY if you're flexing the tongue upward to create more of a curve
which is why you don't fricking bend a ruler when taking a two dimensional measurement like width
you filmed this didn't you

Her tongue is curved basically like the surface of a sphere, the "width" is the shortest distance from one side of her tongue to the other. It's legit.

Width is a straight measurement. That's what it means.
If you're measuring the perimeter of the tongue from one side to the other across the top, that isn't width, that's 1/2circumfrence. Half the outside of a circle is not the width you baboon, the diameter is the width.
If you want to measure worlds widest tongue, you tell the fricking r-slur to straighten their tongue out, or you hold a STRAIGHT ruler above the tongue so you can measure a straight line (because that's what fricking width is) from one side of the tongue to the other
