Foids need to stop trying to be "emotional" when they sing

Stumbled upon this cover of MGMT's Kids where some plain b-word sings it:

And now I'm going to rant about modern female singers.

What is with this modern overly breathy, soft, trying to be sensual shit foids are doing nowadays? The original song was sung well and had a nice high harmony for the chorus, there was power and intent behind the words. This cover just butchers it, like the singer is trying too hard to sound sexy or appealing or sensitive or some shit. It's not just this cover either but a scourge upon modern pop and indie music music sung by foids.

What happened to the Patti Smiths, Bonnie Tylers, Grace Slicks and Whitney Houstons of the world? Women who could belt out notes so powerful it would put their male contemporaries to shame? Why does every female singer do this nowadays?

EDIT: Oh yeah and the instrumental suck butt too lmao

Electronic music going mainstream is partially to blame. Singers don't have to have any real talent, they can just be remixed and tuned to create a vibe.

Also, a lot of good music gets covered and redone for TV shows now, and those shows and songs are marketed to teens and early 20s. It creates this feedback loop where people don't know that anything better actually exists (even the original), and they keep looking for more of the same style for nostalgia.
