Discussion: Society is dying out on a centuries scale unironically. How do we survive and prosper in the aftermath?

Most of the population is man and women children whose only life skill is consumption. On top of that they are all fat fricks and butt ugly. The bottom class was already a failure and now the middle class has collapsed too. Only group going up is the top 10% of the world's population carrying everyone else forward. The scales are broken. The average person is gonna live and die in a pod. How do we survive and get through this dramabros?

You should probably get your own shit together before you start stressing global scale events you have no actual control over, dumbass.

Do you have like, a source of income? Are you physically healthy? Do you have a family or network of friends that can/will support you?

If not, you should get those things, and then probably buy land.

Get yourself 10 acres of fertile land with a water source, preferably one that doesn’t rely upon a well. Clear it and build a homestead. Focus on diversity of production, not quantity. I currently have a dozen vegetables, chickens, goats, ducks, tobacco, bees, etc. Plan for what life would be like if the power and gas stations were shut down tomorrow. Build skills with your hands: plumbing, woodworking, electrical and welding in that order. Learn to forage in your area. Most importantly, establish good relationships with people who are close to you.

I don’t think things will collapse in my lifetime, but if they do, I have a much better chance of making it than most. The only things I need that I can’t grow, forage or make are coffee and coca. That is basically all I would miss if society evaporated tomorrow. I live completely off grid otherwise.

In short, build skills and touch grass.

what about a dentist or doctor?

Jump in the discussion.

>Dentist

Modern ((dentistry)) exists like medicine for type 2 beetus: it is a product of the industrial revolution and a bandaid for a man made problem. If you’re eating vegetables, nuts and meat, you won’t need one.

>Doctor

you can always injure a tooth in an accident or have a sideways wisdom tooth pop out. Anyways I think you should add a doctor/dentist as a partner in the op

Warning, about to reddit cringe post: unironically embrace stoicism. Live a good life, vote, make money on the off-chance you might be able to afford to upload your consciousness or live forever (bc I know you love that futurism shit bb). Try to make the people around you's lives better but don't worry too much about how they experience reality. Ignore everything you do not have control over, put your effort into the shit that actually matters.

Worrying about anything else is silly, bad for your health, and usually just devolves into wingcuck posting.

You should read Camus's The Myth of Sisyphus, and then Marcus Aurelius's Meditations.

Remember in life you should look for eudaimonia, and not euphoria.

I think A Guide to the Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy by Irvine is a good start personally, then move on to good recommendations like yours. It's written as an entry-point and it does a good job. Trying to navigate something like meditations with little background/historical knowledge can be a pain.

Civilization has always starred the top 10% of performers/hotties. That social media elevates the voices of the bottom 90% isn’t concerning.

there is one problem, the quality of elite from abroad going down because you imported so many of them. There comes a point where it is no longer scalable

That’s like saying oil is a useless commodity because at some point another method will be better.

The sheer volume of talented Pakis that don’t want to be Pakis could power the west for the next thousand years.

If you have an arbitrary preference for whites, I understand why this is less attractive, but unironically I loathe most whites in this country and I feel like most have chosen to neglect their duties of carrying the torch forward.

just read first 3rd pf myth of sisyphus. Philosophers make zero sense when talking about each other but once he returns to the natural absurd man what he says starts making sense.

you should try combining camus and stoicism. It's like a steroid pill of growth.

my fav is the Plague, with corona it make double sense. Are you a leftie? Cause the plague is a metaphor for fascism. Also very striking while corona hit!

Sisiphos is different cause its Camus only work that isnt rly a story so much as its a lexicon of his ideas.

I mean I propably have my own way of combining them, yes :). I am not a full blown stoic but I know when worrying about something I cant change just makes me uselessly miserable. What I got more form Neitzsche is the absolute uselessness of self-pity. Its a bad force for useless humans.

I don’t need to give you a single reason let alone justify myself to some nameless weirdo looking for attention on the internet. But I’ll humor you.
