CR Boxes and Pandemic Mitigation (no drama)

I'm bored and browsing hobby subs at work. Came across this and had to make sure I'm not in Controversial > All.

It's apparently a "thing" for people to make a DIY cube of a box fan + furnace filters, but this guy isn't satisfied.

Just thought this was an interesting thing to look at. It's the year of our Lord 2024 and this man wrote up a 21-page proposal requesting funding (which would be delivered in the form of cryptocurrency) to help mitigate the Covid-19 pandemic. He also has concerns about the looming Avian Flu crisis.

Of course he botched the Twitter link

Actually educational: Primary immigration flows around the world

1. The US : Main source of immigrants is Mexico, India, and China. - https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/us-immigration-by-country

None of these countries have negative population growth so far ( Technically possibly China but not due to the levels of immigration ), which means US immigration is sustainable for decades to come.

2. Germany : Main source of immigrants is Ukraine, Romania, Poland, Turkey. - https://www.statista.com/statistics/894238/immigrant-numbers-by-country-of-origin-germany

Ukraine has a declining population made worse by the war. In the long run Ukraine will likely be less than half its current size.

Romania and Poland also have declining populations.

Turkey is doing fine for now.

In the long term Germany's migrant sources are not as stable as the US and it is likely that Germany would have to change them over time. This can be done by either expanding the EU and taking in immigrants from newer EU members, or shifting focus to North Africa.

3. Saudi Arabia: Main source of immigrants is India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh. - https://migrants-refugees.va/country-profile/saudi-arabia

Turns out Saudi Arabia is where South Asia and Indonesia flow towards.

These countries all have growing populations and the flow of immigrants from these nations is sustainable in the long run.

4. Russian Federation: Main sources of immigrants are Tajikistan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Krygyztan. - https://www.statista.com/statistics/1203451/immigration-by-country-in-russia

In terms of numbers the immigration is easily sustainable. The primary problem for Russia is that it has the lowest quality of immigrants among the top four destinations for immigrants in the world ( Going by total immigrant population ).

Ukraine will no longer remain a secure source of immigrants for Russia, meaning Russian immigrant quality is going to fall even further.

Russian has enough immigrant sources to maintain its population if it wanted to, but it does not have enough immigrant sources to maintain its intelligence levels.

Russia's people will likely only keep getting dumber with the passage of time.

In conclusion:

Eastern Europe and Eastern Asia are the only two places where we will see serious population depletion within our lifetimes.

There are enough people around to keep supplying the top three immigrant countries with new bodies of adequate competence.

Russia is going to have things become worse over time even if it did not have the war going on.

USA has the best immigrant sources.
