I've never in my life seen people give a standing ovation at a movie theater. Not once. Some half hearted clapping, maybe, and even that's rare.

As with these stories it's probably exaggerated and there were a few people clapping but this person has their identity tied to this movie so they had to make it seem cooler than it was.
