I don't follow rap, so all I know about Azalia Banks is that she's an absolute drama kween, and that I keep getting her confused with Iggy Azalia.
I asked a friend who's into rap how to tell them apart and he said I don't need to, that they're the same person, that Iggy Azalia is just Azalia Banks' whiteface alter ego, that Azalia Banks'll go backstage halfway through a concert, slap on some white makeup and come back out as Iggy Azalia, and now she's Iggy Azalia for the rest of the show.

You've just described my attitude towards music. I once had a friend tell me that he sometimes just sat and did nothing but listen to an album, all the way through, and I wondered if he might be simple.

For audio dramas when you listen to the behind the scenes most of them will explicitly acknowledge that they're just making radio plays but for millennials. Some of the big budget ones like BBC ones literally take people who started out in radio lmao.

Podcasts just offer a heck of a lot more choice of what to listen to than radio.
Way way back in the early 2000s in Australia, if you didn't want to listen to music or talkback, your choices were:
ABC Newsradio. News obviously, but only for half of the day, because then they'd broadcast goddarn fricking parliamentary question time. I still get angry when I think about it, because all I wanted was the news, not some bunch of useless c*nts squabbling like children.
Or Radio National. Basically the Australian NPR. It had some decent shows back when I listened, but I imagine it's become utterly unlistenable over the last ten years or so.
Now tho, I can listen to people that aren't insufferable wingc*nts, talk about subjects I'm really interested in.
