Today is the anniversary of when Brigham Young ordered the !Mormons to attack a wagon train of gold prospectors. They went in Indian blackface (just like the Boston Tea Party !burgers !chuds) and killed about 140 people over a few days. Then they kidnapped everyone under 8 and raised them Mormon.

All because Brigham Young accused them of having the gun that shot Joseph Smith in their possession.

Like the devolution of the Suzuki Vitara into the Chevy Trax, the OG mormons were the hardest motherlovers on the American frontier before their degradation into some sort of extreme version of midwestern chili cheesedog goofiness.

Plug for Wallace Stegner's Mormon Country if you want to develop an appreciation for God's mayoest soldiers :marseymormon::marseymayo:

Really though. I'm kind of surprised they never gained the same lionization with internet lolberts as killdozer or the Ruby Ridgetards. Like sure they tried to stand up a hierarchical theocracy, but they were also kind of the original boogaloo boys. Also at least a little bit of that ethos still exists today. idk if you know any but some of them are borderline preppers and the church encourages this.

Dude yes they did. Remember those Oregon ranchers who "took over" some sort of forest ranger station?

One dude called himself "Captain Moroni," a character who featured somewhere between Alma chapter 40-60-ish in the Book of Mormon as an ultra righteous military theodictator who slaughtered 4000 people who voted against him in his election. !mormons

The rest of them had annotated copies of the Constitution with patriotic anti-american footnotes from Mormon prophecies how they will overthrow the government.

Huh, were they actually LDS or were they just schizos?

I grew up in a Mormon area, but nowadays I only really know one and he drinks and smokes so he isn't really great native informant.
