The conniving Brits set up such a complicated legal system in Palestine that any proposed changes to the law spend over 100 years making their way through parliament.

Laws should be hard to enact and easy to repeal

constitutional amendments should have a 50 year shelf life and require voting them back in, just in case your country was founded under certain conditions which no longer exist and those amendments don't actually make sense anymore

That defeats the purpose of having a constitution

Good

you keep the core of the constitution which should declare the existence of your state and outline the basic structure, powers, and limitations of your government

but when you make other amendments like alcohol prohibition, these are typically responses to more recent/acute issues, there's no reason to keep those around (just an example, I know we double-amended on the issue)

I'd say most people would be cool to not allow the government to garrison soldiers in your house, keep the right to not impeach yourself in court, the later-added term limitations on presidents, but it's probably a good thing that people review these things periodically

No, you're being r-slurred. You want an inflexible constitution so that it doesn't bend to the decrees of some majority later down the road.

What would sense is applying your rule to regulations, where the agencies have to demonstrate the [alleged] net benefits of each one.

A constitutional amendment changes "the core of the constitution". It's a decision to adopt a new "core constitution".

I haven't read much about this but if it's like the Brits in India then the laws were probably made to be compatible with local customs on the matters of gay shit.

Have you seen mugayl art?

I say mugayl but khajuraho isn't much better.

I'll never understand what possessed medieval tards to stuff temples with shit like that. That they are still the most beautiful temples I've seen is just salt on the wound.

Degen stuff in Hindu Temples is well known but I don't think they reflected the broader culture. I guess arty types always had a degenerate streak in them across cultures throughout human history :marseyxd:.

I doubt there was much artistic freedom, thousands of people worked with more or less the same art style towards a state funded project it wasn't like the Euros being able to do whatever and finding rich customers afterwards. Nobility was turbo degenerate.

When I was in Konark this guide was explaining to some goras that Ashoka built the place(:marseywut2:) after the Kalinga war to teach the people of the region how to repopulate it.

What was their reaction?

They were nodding along like it makes sense.

Though I've found myself in similar situations and its hard to point out they're wrong lol. Like a guard at Jaipur fort gave me a tour for free for some reason and he was telling me how some cannon made people deaf for kms around, could be heard as far as Delhi and cracked the Earth and it was a hard struggle not to :marseygiggle: when he was after all doing me a favour and seemed to mean it unironically.

I read the wiki about Fatah party and their system is full r-slur

They have like 1500 members of the party (for a country with a population size of Chicago) which have to meet all in the same room to pass new policy plans and apparently it's like herding cats. Plus it's mostly old dudes and takes forever for new members to join.

They didn't meet for like a decade in the 2000s because of some infighting. They also had the same leader for 18yrs (abbas)

It sounds extremely dysfunctional and very tribal

No wonder Hamas won power
