Yemen has been in a civil war since 2014. And by civil war I mean proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Houthis is the party thats been trying to overtake the sitting Yemani government, they are backed by Iran. The Rashad al-Alimi-led Presidential Leadership Council (OG Yemen government, at least in this context) is backed by coalition comprised of Saudi Arabia, US, UK, and France. It's been pretty ugly with over 350,000 civilization deaths. Not all from direct violence though, it's estimated at least 90,000 children have starved to death since the beginning of the conflict. So, Houthis already has a bit of a bone to pick with the US and they obviously dont like Isreal. This is their opportunity to try and flex a bit.
