Canada is joining a U.S-led maritime force to protect commercial ships transiting the Red Sea that have come under attack from drones and ballistic missiles fired from parts of Yemen controlled by Iran-backed Houthi rebels.
Canada's initial contribution will be a handful of personnel, two government sources said. One of the sources said these will be staff officers who will likely be assigned to work at a regional U.S. command and help with operational planning.
The ideal vessel for this maritime force would be an air-defence destroyer, able to handle threats such as anti-ship ballistic missiles, but Canada doesn't have such a capability at the moment.

That's about as much of a contribution as they should make considering how much of the trade there is going to Canada. Watch as Europe makes a token contribution, Asia does nothing, and Cuckmerica ends up providing 90% of the force. Somebody remind wtf our national interest in this is supposed to be.

France and Britain will probably make a decent contribution. A Royal Navy ship has already started shooting at stuff in the red sea. Not sure what they're expecting from the Seychelles though
