The more I compare how the US and Canada deal with Natives the more it becomes clear the US definitely had the better plan.
The US was smart to kill the majority of them 150+ years ago and for the most part were assimilated 100+ years ago, then gave them a ball to play with and some gibs and they just do their own thing now.
In return we only have to hear about an actual native issue once a decade or so outside of the customary bitching about Mt. Rushmore and Columbus Day.

Seriously, most First Nations are refusing to carry out any investigation of the alleged graves, because they know the evidence won't support their preferred narrative, and that narrative is currently defining the public, governmental, and international perception. Correcting that perception is like trying to squeeze toothpaste back into the tube.
