Government and media perpetuate an obscene level of hero worship of the police and military-- people whose central role in the world is to commit violence. Violence is exported through the arms trade and imperialist aggression. American puppets and proxies are exalted for commiting violence on behalf of the empire, just look at how the media rushed to engage in nonstop zelensky peepeeriding when the war in Ukraine began.

Even just being okay with the status quo requires an acceptance of incredible amounts of violence at home and abroad.
