If you mean by combatants killed in combat, sure. In the broader context however , I think Hamas managed a serious strategic victory over Israel and I believe it's getting increasingly more difficult to deny that as time goes on.

just ask him what military objectives israel has achieved, hamas is still present in gaza, israel is a pariah state, 2 hostages rescued in total, Hezbollah ravaging the north of israel with no signs of stopping.

Overall total israeli victory

What strategic victory? You mean October 7th?

To put it in the simplest of terms, Hamas removed Israel's mask. Oct. 7th was such an enormous failure of Israeli security that the only way Israel could recover its internal, and external, image and sense of security was through overwhelming force and violence. But, as we've all seen in the last 7 months, this excessive violence has not helped Israel achieve its military objectives. It has, though, exposed Israel to the rest of the world as a violent, oppressive state. It has tarnished Israel's image for generations to come and has invited far more scrutiny and sympathy to the Palestinian question than ever before.

We're now at a turning point in this conflict. There's no going back to the previous status quo where Palestine was but an after thought and Israel was free to continue its passive and active colonization of the land. Hamas, by doing Oct. 7th and inviting Israel's wrath upon the strip has made it so the slow and "humane" approach to Israel's colonization is no longer viable. Israel is now forced to double down on its violence and violent methods if it wishes to remove all Palestinians from Greater Israel. The slow ethnic cleansing that was happening up until Oct. 6th was advantageous to Israel as it didn't really get much in the way of real international scrutiny and condemnation but now that isn't, and can longer be, the case.

Israel has also never been more isolated in the world stage than today, and it's only going to get worse as it falls into the same traps as Apartheid South Africa did. Israel's Prime and Defense Ministers are about to have arrest warrants on them issued by the ICC. This is an enormous blow to Israel's image and it genuinely can't be overstated. There's an active investigation of Israel at the ICJ that may very well end up with Israel being accused of conducting genocide in the Gaza strip. The settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem are being even more unhinged and violent than before. Israel's economy is in dire straits and even its credit score was downgraded a few times with more possibly in the way. We have countries like Turkey straight up cease most direct trade with Israel. We have countries recognizing, or planning to, the Palestinian state and we have Palestine's member status at the UN being upgraded and its full membership being discussed. This isn't sustainable for Israel, you know?

It's no exaggeration to say that Israel's very existence is at stake. Israeli society is going down a very dark path. The rifts inside Israeli society have never been more apparent and real. The judicial coup that the right tried to do last year is but a test drive. With the ultra orthodox community's growing numbers and the influence and power of the more extreme right also growing, Israel's fascist transformation is nearly complete. I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised that an exodus of more moderate and liberal type Israelis happened in the near future because of this, leaving Israel to languish in economic hardship due to massive brain drain. It might very well go the way of Apartheid South Africa, and not even America's unwavering support may save Israel from this fate.

tl;dr; the future isn't looking too bright for Israel.
