This neighbor so mindfricked he believe a legitimate casus belli is a trade agreement that included recognising PalestiBIPOCs as a requirement for the Saudis before they would finalise anything. Hamas fricked it up for Israel. They fricked it up for Saudi. They fricked it up for Palestine.

Hamas fricked it up for Hezbollah and Iran too, thew didn't warn anybody and their allies were caught with their pants down and didn't managed to brace for Israel's reaction in time :marseyshrug:

Definitely, although I'd add that in practice Hezbollah had almost a year of no major Israeli operations against them to prepare for a real fight and still got wrecked as soon as the Israelis decided to get serious.

Hezbollah got very cocky. Weren't they the terrorist group that managed to root out all the CIA spies from their organization? Plenty of them also managed to kill burger soldiers and evade capture for decades. They thought themselves unbeatable at this point. This cockiness definitely worked in Israel's favor :chadjew:

Yeah they've done many competent operations but the last one I can think of was 18 years ago. They might have rested on their laurels while Israel kept getting stronger. Of course it doesn't help them that Israel has many more resources than they do, so Israel's ceiling is much higher than their ceiling.
