Only well into his adulthood, into his mid to late 30s, did he encounter for the first time the novel view that Palestinians aren't sub-human barbarian cockroaches who must be wiped off the face of the earth, as his mommy and daddy taught him and his wife from birth. Only then did he encounter people who said: No, actually these are human beings, and Israel was founded as a genocidal death and r*pe-cult masquerading as a society.

And this incongruity in his mind had to be resolved somehow. These contradictions had to be untied. And he could do that in one of two ways: Accept and embrace the view, as anti-Zionists including Jews have, that Palestinians are fully human, and therefore have all the rights that come with being fully human, including not being systematically hunted, tortured, maimed, r*ped and killed by a genocidal death-cult funded and armed and diplomatically shield by the US-NATO empire.
