Well it would take ~6 100KT warheads to level all the buildings in the Gaza strip. The MOAB is about 15 tons equivalent tnt so the Jews would need roughly 40,000 MOAB's.

But a large proportion of a nuke's energy is sent skyward, if we assume that the blast is perfectly hemispherical, then a MOAB, despite having ~1/7000 the yield would have over 1/20th the blast radius and therefore 1/366 the footprint. So they'd only need about 2,000 MOABs

I have no idea where you're getting that a Moab would have a blast radius 1/20th of a 100kt nuke. That sounds incredibly fricking stupid. You would want to detonate both at ideal altitudes to maximize the radius. Also radius doesn't scale linearly when comparing areas. You need to square the ratios. So 1/20th blast radius would be 1/400th the area. That actually sounds mildly correct. I have no idea. We need real life testing.
