You don't have to like Hamas to realize that Israel is just full scorched earth on everything in Palestine and they can't know where every single hostage is at all times. Besides, they operate like George Bush. The more pretext you have for war, the better. If they do off some of their own hostages, blame it on Hamas and people are riled up even more.
