This was during the early pandemic so they maybe factored that in when giving me a comparably short prison term at only 2 year, but I think the judge made up for it by ordering 12 strokes of the cane, a bit higher than I expected. I knew it would hurt but I had no idea how bad it actually would be.
Are you able to backtrack and figure out who this is?
the only case i can find is this but the prison sentence is 5 years
I think it's BS, basically everything he put in his story is from the caning wiki article and doing some Google's I don't see any comparable offenses getting 12 strokes.
I'm not gonna believe anyone until I see butt scars.
I can totally understand that because the reverse applies for me when I see like maybe 911roofer's posts on the homeless/crime epidemic in major burger cities like there's definitely crime and all in the less developed south east asian cities but people don't shoot up in the open and all that

Everyone on Reddit is talking about how Singapore is a shithole without “freedoms” but those freedoms just manifest in America as all public spaces and transportation being completely unusable by normal people.
Seems like the average non criminal burger would be far more “free” to enjoy living in Singapore 🇸🇬
I definitely bought the whole "freedom" thing when I was young and idealistic but after travelling to some "free" places I've realised that it's probably not that bad the way things are run over here lol. Having to be constantly vigilant and on guard is bloody exhausting and not fun at all... I can't reconcile with the idea that somehow feeling unsafe is part and parcel of hustle and bustle life

I thought it was that case too but they got sentenced in 2022 so that’s not him.
It could be bait though

Is armed robbery rare enough over there that you could expect a news article about it?

fortunately yes indeed lol
there's almost no way you're not getting caught for that over here

This is actually incomprehensible to me as a burger and a former hustle/bustle turned ruralcel.
I’m incredibly jealous
