Generated by TLDR This:

If you’ve ever felt like it’s difficult to “un-train” YouTube’s algorithm from suggesting a certain type of video once it slips into your recommendations, you’re not alone.

One major issue, according to new research conducted by Mozilla, is that YouTube’s in-app controls such as the “dislike” button, are largely ineffective as a tool for controlling suggested content.

The “dislike” button was nearly the same at 12 percent, and “remove from watch history” weeded out about 29 percent.

But it's a little bit of a paternalistic way to operate where you're kind of making choices on behalf of people.

The European Union is even farther ahead.

It's weird. Every redditor seems to complain about it, but I never have culture war stuff on my Youtube recommendations.

I usually don't, but whenever I watched a few videos of antifa in Portland getting beaten up, Youtube would suddenly decide that I must be really interested in Ben Shapiro.

My recommendations are all car reviews/builds and 3d printing shit. Same account since 2007. Either these people are seeking those videos out, or their interests/hobbies are culture wars adjacent.

I only see a little bit of culture war stuff in my recommended when I rarely watch right wing philosophy (stuff more complex then Steven crowder talking about how the left went too far this time) but mostly just stuff from the same channel. When I watch my usually gaming and comics content I just get normie crap.

You only get put in the culture war garbage algo if you watch more than 5 culture war vids.
