There are some leaf loggers building a diesel electric by retrofitting existing logging trucks and promoting it on TikTok. Their company is called Edison (stealing Tesla's ideas).
Interesting idea since you can run the diesel at optimal RPM to charge the batteries, basically how trains run these days. Electric drivetrain benefits, you can refill like a normal truck, and all the non-electric parts are from standard trucks. IIRC it's a bit heavy though.
