Furthermore, its clients will be able to upgrade their machines without replacing actual hardware or offering additional services to their clients.

lmao, they're really shilling hard. CPUs get real cheap after 1-4 years, so there's no cost savings to be had by waiting to buy the Intel Super Plus Subscription Loyalty package after 2+ years.

Between this and newer cars... they are trying really hard to charge you for what you have in your hand, and banking on no one hacking the features. I remember how that worked out for the boeing max

I get that they want to profitmax, but they had their SKUs for a reason. Some chips had faulty and inadequate cores, so they sell those as 4-core models and disable the other 4 cores, even though it had 8 partly functional cores.

You know what? This subscription plan will most likely succeed because most consumers have no idea what I'm talking about. May as well arbitrarily disable performance until you get paid a bit more for it.

Intel cucks deserve it. :marseywholesome:

There's increasingly little reason to buy a desktop PC, if this becomes the norm ill switch to some bullshit embedded ARM computer or smth.

Someones going to spoof the upgrade server eventually tho

It's not something that i think will see mainstream adoption especially since everything for end users now is basically one button install. No one fricks around with anything anymore

Def a neat time for computers tho, it's been ages since theres been viable non windows platforms

The nice thing about Moore's """law""" breaking is I can stick on old hardware a lot longer

Heck, I only just upgraded from an i5-4590 system a week ago, at this rate my i7-12700 will last me two decades barring an accident
