In non-meme world, the UK is pretty good for free speech compared to a lot of places where you'll get someone turning up at your door if you dare insult the president or some such thing. In this case though they don't want to put restrictions on tech sites because that would be economically harmful. What's funny about it is that the Tories are the ones arguing the free speech angle despite having a history of trying their best to ban one thing or another to protect the children and etc
