They can still triangulate their approximate position by using geolocation and go from there, unless they're going really far away from their home to use it each time and there's no recognizable pattern (doubtful). You also have to worry about things like Stingrays which are used to downgrade you to less secure stuff like 3G (you can turn this option off much of the time in your phone, but they never mentioned it).
