This isn’t really rightoid, it’s just banning direct competition.
It’s really dumb to think of Elon as right or left because he’s completely above all of that. He donates to both parties and just aligns himself which whatever best serves him at the moment. He was pretending to be pro free speech after he bought Twitter to breathe new life into a platform he’s trying to turn into an American version of WeChat (he’s stated this as his final goal dozens of times), he pretended to be an environmentalist when it helped him get government loans for Tesla and when California was debating a ban on non-electric cars, and he pretended to be pro-privacy when he was developing PayPal as a safe way to send money without giving out too much personal info.
He doesn’t really believe in anything besides advancing whatever goal he’s obsessed with at the moment. Him buying Twitter is just a temporary rightoid win because leftists are extremely mad about it, but that’s about it. Every move from now on is a move that is trying to turn Twitter into WeChat, which is a huge loss for everyone, left or right.
