Do you think there's a difference between thermal paste brands? Seems like a meme to me most of the time with like +/- 3C IMO.

I think using gold would be bad without an IHS because it would be conductive right.

I always just buy the most expensive because it seems like a chad move

I’m fine with spending $10 but it doesn’t seem worth spending $40 if it doesn’t change temps.

I usually get Arctic MX-4 but it just seems to be easy to find with nobody saying it's bad.

doesn't fricking matter at all, the only difference is the silver stuff and the white stuff, the silver stuff can short shit out and the white stuff won't

Splitting hairs over the brand is not worth the time, just slap whatever shit you can find on and call it a day for another year.

No lie, one time at Micro Center me and my buddies made small talk w/ two employees. They legitimately started arguing about if you could use ketchup or mustard as thermal paste.

I use a graphite thermal pad. Works great with no mess.

Mess hasn't been a concern for me wrt thermal paste. I got a 100 pack of premoistened alcohol wipes for glasses ages ago.

That is a neat option though.

Barely matters. Buy one tube and use it for the next 20 years.
