Small, cheap, and potentially not even manufactured in the US (think Apple, designed in California made in China) chips are somehow ending up in Iranian hands. How could this be? There’s no way China is involved right…they’re just the largest economy in the world, not part of the embargos, and friendly with Iran and Russia.

I know English isn’t your first language, so read carefully:

40 appear to have been manufactured by 13 different American companies

There’s a difference between something manufactured BY an American company and something manufactured IN America. NXP for example has locations in China. None of these companies have trade restrictions with China unless a component is specifically ITAR (or related).

Again, which part of an American company got you confused?

Manufactured by 13 different American companies.

Looks like you get so butthurt instinctively that you are the one who forgets how to read english.

Relax. Think about exactly what is being said. It's alright if it takes time. Don't let your presumptions get in the way. When you are talking with me I am saying exactly what is written and there is no extra assumptions in the background that need to be made.

There’s a difference between a chip made in China (designed) by an American company and a chip made in the USA by an American company. Does that not make sense?

The location of manufacture is different but it's still the chip by the same company how do you not understand that? Or do you think all these companies are open sourcing their primary product designs in the military sphere? The American company developed the chips. You yourself admitted that. They developed them in China from where they were easier to sell to Iran because there are no restrictions or sanctions in China to Iran. That still does not change the fact that the US company manufactured them.

Lol that’s what I’ve been trying to say :marseycry:

But note, a western company does have regulations to try and prevent things from China going to embargoed companies, but the efficacy of that is questionable.
