That's a neat idea! Which part of your home do you choose to store the paper in and what does the container look like?

That’s probably safer for most people. Your only risk is being burgled, but I don’t think the thieves are going to go through notebooks looking for passwords.

The whole don’t write down your password thing was intended for office environments.

I have a borderline schizo cybersecurity professor that worked for the NSA and the Marines. This is exactly what he does.

are we really gonna emulate schizos?

He knows what he's talking about and also dangerously based and Tedpilled, lives in a cabin in the woods with no internet as an accomplished CS professional and professor

A former NSA chief came to give a speech and I was fairly concerned he was gonna shoot him up, but instead my man just grilled him when he started lying about the severity of what Snowden leaked. Also he constantly refers to Glennpai. Just incredibly based.

I give it 25% odds he has CP saved somewhere

Imagine not:

  • taking a randomly generated password (one for each service of course)

  • dividing it into 4 parts

  • putting each part into a different .txt

  • labeling each .txt file incorrectly just in case a special forces hacker breaks through my window and steals my hard drive

  • coming up with a few random letters and numbers for each password chunk (generated by the mind this time)

  • putting those numbers on sticky notes and stashing them in dead drops hidden near your property

Boggles my mind that people are too r-slurred to take their online security seriously.

Any one who wasnt r-slurred and cared was keeping their passwords on a local encrypted file.

For those who didnt care, all i have to say is based. PM me your banking info and ill let you know if it was hacked.

I don't care if they are in the cloud. I prefer convinience. Most important ones are 2FA anyway. If you Don't enable 2FA and think your 14char password is the safest you're r-slurred.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

I do 2fa and keepass. If you think 2fa isnt hackable you are r-slurred.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

im not saying its not hackable, I know what happened with uber. but its much safer than just passwords. Also these days all browsers help you reset password that were leaked almost immediately

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

>almost immediately

After they figure out and release the info.

Also 2FA is almost useless on high valuable stuff because if someone wants in all the have to do is piss and shit everywhere and keep calling until they get someone who is ready to quit anyway and ask to have it removed. This is because this happens all the time because people are fricking stupid.

It can kinda work on passwords to. Not as effective if you ask for both though.

Anyways, most of the shit gets leaked on the internet anyways so if someone really wants in theyll get in (personal info to reset passwords.), keepass passwords are probably the only thing that doesnt get leaked because its local.

I migrated away from LastPass when they slowly started catering more towards enterprise clients by locking any useful features away into a subscription. It was weird and off-putting. Why do corporate frickheads have to ruin everything?

Getting btfo is a biyearly tradition for LastPass. It's seriously incredible that people still trusted them as late as 2022.

This is what happens when you don't hire trans lives matter programmers.
