This is pure cope from cons00mer-minded wealthists.

  • it is literally impossible to do any damage to a circuit board if it's operated in its design parameters. There is no wear on the silicon

  • the article says sane normal self-kind of people put stuff in the dishwasher in uncontrolled conditions using tap water

  • nativist nonsense, assuming just because the water is Vietnamese it is somehow bad (?)

  • "pressure washing" looks an awful lot like a gentle rinse to me

  • people should be happy they aren't getting dirty nasty old obviously-used filthy cards

Done properly this is 1000% okay.

I spilled peepee on my motherboard once, age ago. Rinsed it with soap water and let it dry for two days. Worked like a charm for next 3-4 years

are you joking? No, a gpu will not work for infinitely many on/off thermal cycles. The fan won't run forever either.

You will not live infinity days, either. Silicon will outlast you monkeys which is why the robots will win

You cannot be seriously arguing that computer parts never break. I have had it happen multiple times.

Chips cease to work there big boy. Entropy always wins.

You'd have to run it off and on for 4 hours each time everyday for 4 years before you might get problems. What are y'all smoking?

I actually mined eth for a while when it was profitable. You overclock the ram and underclock the cpu (on the card) and you crank the fans. And you run the cards in this state 24/7 for as long as it works. Definitely never buy a used gpu
