First, I consider myself a good enough programmer that I can avoid writing code with safety problems. Sure, I’ve been responsible for some CVEs (including font parsing code in Android), but I’ve learned from that experience, and am confident I can avoid such mistakes in the future.

I think this a meme of some sort. I don't know why someone would go online and say things they don't believe in, especially on this the transgender day of bloodshed, but regardless this is the conclusion I've arrived at.

is rust worth learning, I have some spare time at work I was considering learning one of the more neurodivergent coding languages.

I mainly use java and python, was considering rust, c++ or c

Which would impress an employer most.

C and C++ are probably still more in demand

Rust is pretty comfy, it's like petting an r-slured but friendly dog

Rust would get you more Brownie points with hipsters, type nerds and a few systems people, while c/c++ would be more for the boomer systems crowd. None of the three are actually useful to most enterprise programmers because of a lack of GC, but that's neither here nor there.

If you want the most brownie points / learning hour and you're willing to do webdev, Ruby would be a logical next step. There's lots of rails codebases that meet maintenance.

True code chads are still using C++. If you're using the modern standards (C++11 or newer) and use a static analyzer you immediately solve 90% of the problems with legacy C++.
