It really isn’t. Most “programmers” can’t do fizzbuzz and spam clearly bullshit jobs. If you do the bare minimum of networking you can easily get a job that pays a median US salary.

It’s “oversaturated” in the sense there’s a lot of people who did six weeks at a boot camp but they’re easily filtered out by FizzBuzz.
Are you going to make six figs off the bat? No, especially without the money printer.
Can you make a decent salary if you’re a competent junior dev and can network? Yes, it’s a good way to middle class living.
All the reddit posts of people saying “I applied to 500 jobs and got 3 callbacks” are approaching it the wrong way entirely.
