This is a brand new month old SSD failing this isnt a "you should have had a back up fail" this is a product failure. This is the kinda shit you buy to back stuff up "erm you should have bought 6 different multi hundred dollar SSDs as a back up chain! :marseynerd: "

You don't need SSDs for your backups. Hard drives are still the more economical storage option unless you want to pick up and physically shake your computer regularly they're good enough for basically every normal person

When in r-slurville do you guys actually start thinking about backing up things with a bathtub distribution failure rate?

The first replacement was just a ransom payment to prevent them from writing a hitpiece. Im sure they reached out for another replacement and were denied.

Note that they dont really go into how they were treating the drive. If youre shooting on location in the summer im betting they left it in a hot car for huge periods of time. Or maybe some similar idiocy from the people who cant think to back up any of their data. No shit it broke. No refunds

Sure but whats the failure rate and how many customers did it affect? This reads much more like a seethepost than legitimate journ*lism.

Skepticism is warranted based solely on the quality of the writing. I think if you broke out the numbers youd find that something else was going on here.

At no point does the article say it was replaced under warranty.
