Checking in on Threads, The Twitter Killer from Meta: Picking up X's (Formerly Twitter) Scraps Edition

Previously on Threads, The Twitter Killer from Meta

Nothing big really but Threads is so desperate for users (or to regain the 80% that have already left) that they are now advertising in Instagram itself.

I am literally :marseyfluffyannoyed:

Some points

  1. Initially it was once a day, now I have seen it several times today

  2. Everything is either shitlib shit from all those losers who left Twitter or people complaining about Twitter and how Threads is better. This is 95% of the threads posted I have seen. As in this is what Meta thinks will attract more users (me)

  3. This is in the main feed where I look at shit that I am following, not discovery.

  4. I don't think you can turn it off?

  5. I have no idea if this is for everyone everyone or just everyone who sighed up to Threads

  6. Threads main draw at-the-moment is boring shitliberals and it is kind of funny seeing them with only 1k likes :marseylaughwith: but I don't need to see it when I'm looking at my boring YT-interests :marseysad:

I think it's still too early to make any grand statements on Thread or Twitter.

I'm excited for ActivityPub integration and see just how much Thread shits up Fedi and vice-versa

ActivityPub integration is the only thing that could save Threads at this point lmao
