Thank God, finally someone is doing something to fix one of Wayland's biggest problems.

Wayland should be abolished and the developers forcefully castrated. Thankfully half of them are already in the process of doing it to themselves.

I think it can be considered a failed project at this point. Time to restart with a better design in mind.

The challenge for the other toolkits is we can't use the same OpenGL trick as Qt. They either lack GPU reset handling either at a toolkit level or within the applications.

Supporting OpenGL requires new infrastructure. We've tried from the start to get some infrastructure in place to allow this.It was clear that proposing library changes for client reconnection support was an uphill battle whilst being unproven in the wild.

Translation, GNOME team continues to suck, GTK is a terrible toolkit.

What even uses Qt other than random embedded/automobile UI's? Do those even use wayland? Is Qt wayland?

This seems to be targeted at KDE Plasma 6 which releases next year (at least that's the plan), though many things use Qt.

webOS (LG TVs), AMD's Radeon Driver for Windows, Autodesk Maya, DaVinci Resolve, Dolphin, Google Earth, Krita, OBS, qBittorrent, Roblox Studio (:marseypedo:), Source 2, Teamviewer, Telegram, VirtualBox, and VLC are all projects that use QT at least in part.

Edit: To answer the second half of your comment. Wayland is for desktop environments, so software will have to support it, but software doesn't use it directly.

Mashallah, a few more No Soyboy's Sky chimpouts and we will finally get the mandate by pussified g*mers to put the remaining Post-Purchase-Rationalizationovites up against the wall while they look the other way.

If wayland still doesn't work after this long what the frick CAN we use? Some kind of fricked up, X-org replacer that exists to do the same shit but actually work with X programs like wayland was supposed to? What does wayland even improve? You can't even click and drag things to other applications by default. You can't even make a linux version of autohotkey because of it. It's FRICKED!

Is promising, it just needs way more interest from potential contributors.
