PChads stay winning, there's a reason why Bill Gates got to go to Epstein's island while Linus Torvalds just wrote vague statements defending pedophillia. Bill Gates does while Torvolds just dreams.

Are you riffing or do you actually have a recommendation? I'm FOSS OS-curious but since I'm not neurodivergent I get distracted every time I start reading through options.

Takes effort to write all that pokemon dialogue, meanwhile main games can be generated by AI wholesale and will sell better, too.

Shiren the Wanderer 6 comes out next year (same dev team or at least as much as you get in an industry with the turnover of game dev). But I'd imagine with the continued success of danganronpa ports and ports of Uchikoshi writing the same game over and over for the last 20 years that it just wasn't in spike's best interest to keep doing licensed games.

Fdroid is nice for niche apps I like. Also what emulator is locked behind a patreon? Use lemuroid for 99% emulated mobile games, PPSSPP for PSP (which is :marseychefkiss: on mobile) and you're good.

Lemuroid supports PSP through to 3DS but I find its interface is worse compared to PPSSPP, which is kino with easy save states and fast forwards.

Swappable batteries were so good. Whenever I was hiking and low on power I always had a small bandolier of charged batteries to swap out to chill out all day.

I always liked the idea but I don't think I've ever been a situation where fast charging wasn't an option.

If you have an iPhone the soon to be discontinued MagSafe battery pack is nice in a pinch.

My dear friend, you are missing out on the true joys of life by playing video games all the time. The Bible tells us to be good stewards of our time and to not let our minds be corrupted by the things we see and do. "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things." Philippians 4:8. You should be using your time to meditate on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. Video games are none of those things. instead, focus on things that will bring you closer to God and will help you grow in your faith. "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." Colossians 3:17.

"Me off to play pong."

What a sad way to live! Life is so much more than just playing pong. We were created to live for so much more than just games and entertainment. God has so much more in store for us than just playing pong.

Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

God has created us for good works, not for playing pong. We are to use our God-given talents and skills to bless others and make a difference in the world.

So, don't waste your life playing pong. Use your life for something more meaningful. Do something that will make a difference in the world. Live for something more than just entertainment. Live for God and His glory!

ChromeOS comes with a debian container :marseyindignant:

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Like, docker?

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

I think it's just containerised but I'm quite sure it's not using docker since the specs on most chromebooks aren't the best so docker would kinda be wasting resources

Ironically it was the shitty specs of my first chromebook that led me to try self hosting shit and learning docker and stuff lol

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

I used the debian shell stuff on my chromebook and I'm pretty sure it's not a container since I can use it to run gui programs and shit. I think it's similar to however windows linux works

yea prolly like WSL but WSL feels sluggish for some reason

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

because WSL is a heck of a lot "fatter" than something like Docker, which is extremely thin/light.

Keep in mind your chromebook is already running a Linux kernel so it's not exactly a big lift to provide a shell.

Anyways WSL is actually great and if it was sluggish you were either using a very old version or you're running on a toaster.

Are containers technically incapable from running GUI programs? The linux on android programs run via proot and have no problem launching their own X-servers. I don't see why containers should be that different (but I have no clue how docker works)

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

You can, this guy

shows how. I'm guessing it has to be for that entire container though, not just individual programs.

IDk how ChromeOS does it, maybe the Debian container asks ChromeOS to run it.

There's also a way by binding docker to a port and using a browser, but that works for cmd shit too.

https://old.reddit.com/r/docker/comments/ss9jks/how_to_run_a_linux_gui_app_from_a_docker_image

Thing is that I think ChromeOS is a little quirky and I'm :marseygigaretard: I've always thought it was installing the Debian shell into Chrome and it was another way of accessing, but I was wrong :marseyteehee:. Chiobou (p-dophile child male feminist whose been killed by Lord Jinx 1000 times) confirmed that it is a container.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Not sure if ChromeOS uses X or Wayland or something else but they probably just expose the X server or equivalent to the container. They definitely don't need to run their own X server for that.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Yes. They can run their own X servers but then they'd need a display - either you'd need to map the display device into the container, or have some weird setup where there's a virtual display.

In reality most times they probably just expose a port to the host's X server and the GUI containerized app uses that to display itself. That way it seamlessly fits into the host GUI, as just another window.

Jump in the discussion.
