HN basically summarized it as more so the Russian side buying out the founder who lives in UAE, giving him all of his European/Middle east businesses and investments and $$$. Likely because the foreign assets could be seized by Russia and sanctions made business outside RU more complicated for them, such as their Finnish(?) data center having it's energy cut off.
